Abram McClelland Looney Home

Abram McCelland Looney Home, Borned 1820, Died 1904. Reared, married and lived his long life in Columbia, Tn. Beloved and honrored by all who knew him. A natural orator, he spoke in eloquence and with presuasive force. He was a profound lawer and able advocate. He was often a member of the State Senate. He gently breathed his last at his home, Elm Springs, near Columbia in 1904. He married Susan Todd, the daughter of Christopher Todd, of Maury Co. Tn.
The National Headquarters of Confederate Veterns is located in Columbia, Tn. at Elm Springs. Built in 1837 for Susan Todd Looney and passed down through her family, is located at 740 Mooresville Pike, Columbia Tn.
